The Inspector General

Kaye is a wandering shill for snake-oil when he is mis-identified as an Inspector General come to examine a little corrupt town.

Danny Kaye stars in this musical comedy about a case of mistaken identity and the poor fool caught in the middle of it. Georgi (Kaye) is an illiterate member of a traveling medicine show who is mistaken by a small Russian village as the Inspector general, a royal official with vast powers. While the local government officials plot to bribe or kill him, Georgi ingrains himself into the public’s favor all the while trying to find a way out of his situation.

Royal Wedding

Tom dances on the walls and ceiling of his hotel room. All ends well in this light musical.

Fred Astaire and Jane Powell star as a brother and sister dance team that is invited to England to perform at the same time as the royal wedding of Princess Elizabeth. On the cruise ship, Ellen meets and falls in love with Lord John Brindale (Peter Lawford). Upon arriving in London, Tom finds himself in need of a new dance partner. His audition finds not only a new partner but a romantic interest in the form of Anne Ashmond. Great dance numbers, including Astaire dancing on the walls and ceiling of his hotel room, and songs abound in this light romantic comedy.
